Il Valentiano Rosso Toscano IGT

Campaperi Rosso di Montalcino is essentially a ‘young Brunello.’ It is made from the same grapes, harvested from the same vineyard at the same time. Only a portion of the wine, after fermentation, is separated and aged for about 15 months in 30-hectoliter Slavonian oak barrels. Compared to its older sibling, the Brunello, it is a simpler and more approachable wine

Production area: Montalcino, a renowned wine region located in the heart of Tuscany. Perched on a hilltop, the area enjoys a unique microclimate with warm, sunny days and cool nights, ideal for cultivating high-quality grapes. The soils are varied, ranging from clay to limestone, which contributes to the complexity and elegance of its wine

Grape variety: 100% Sangiovese

Alcohol content: 15%

Aging: for 12 months in 30-hectoliter oak barrels, followed by 4 months in bottle

Description

Tasting notes: In the glass, it reveals a brilliant, clear ruby red. The nose is dominated by vibrant red berry aromas, while the palate is dry, round, and fresh, with a long, lingering finish

Serving temperature: The recommended serving temperature is 16 °C

Food pairing: Rosso di Montalcino complements medium-bodied dishes, including cured meats, pasta or risottos with hearty meat or mushroom sauces, and main courses of red meat, poultry, or game. It is particularly delightful with roasts, boards of medium to well-aged cheeses, and classic dishes such as Florentine steak or sliced beef
