Marco Donati Müller Thurgau

The Müller-Thurgau grape variety was created at the end of the 19th century through a cross between Riesling Renano and Madeleine Royale (before DNA research, it was believed to be a cross between Riesling and Sylvaner), by the Swiss oenologist Hermann Müller. It is one of Trentino’s typical varieties, particularly well suited to cultivation in high-altitude hillside vineyards

Production area: Trentino a wine region in northern Italy, located between the Alps and Lake Garda. Its vineyards grow on mountain slopes and in valleys, benefiting from a mix of Alpine freshness and Mediterranean influence. Warm days and cool nights help preserve acidity and aromatic expression in the grapes

Grape variety: 100% Müller Thurgau

Alcohol content: 13%

Description

Tasting notes: A luminous straw yellow with shimmering green reflections; an elegant bouquet that unfolds with fruity and floral notes, gently enriched by a subtle aromatic touch of clary sage and ripe apricot; on the palate, it reveals a refined dryness lifted by a vibrant acidity, leading to a savory, mineral finish of remarkable finesse

Serving temperature: Best served chilled at 10–12°C

Food pairing: An excellent aperitif wine, also perfectly suited to first courses with shellfish-based sauces and to grilled fish, where its freshness, savory depth, and mineral character enhance the delicacy of the seafood and the smoky notes of the grill
